Project P.L.A.Y.

KMI is implementing quality, standards-based, principle-centered activities that help every student feel successful, achieve excellence, and become better movers.

Project P.L.A.Y. (Purposeful Learning for Active Youth), is a three-year grant-funded program that provides a multi-faceted plan that emphasizes the importance of daily physical activity as a critical element of student’s health and overall wellbeing.

Unlike other programs, Project P.L.A.Y. creates a sustainable, school-wide change that encourages a community-wide approach to wellness. Key elements include ongoing professional development for teachers in the areas of standards-based P.E. and nutrition curriculum via in-person coaching, 24-hour web-based support and more; a fresh approach to family strengthening parent education via community-based events that the entire family can enjoy; and providing up-to-date, integrated health-, fitness- and nutrition-related programs that focus on individual assessment and goal-setting.
