Meet the Board

Kids Moving Incorporated is a team of dedicated individuals building a community of people who believe that fitness can be fun, that PLAY brings joy and happiness into your world, and that nutrition, health, and positive life choices are key to personal success.

Project Director: Tami Phillips, M.A., Exercise Science. Founder of Kids Moving Inc., Tami has been involved in the health and fitness industry as an instructor, trainer, CSUF Faculty member, presenter, Certification Specialist, and program developer. It is her mission to empower kids, families, and communities through the JOY and POWER of positive, purposeful PLAY!

  • Emily Paulsen is a Speech-Language Pathologist working in the schools. She works with children daily and sees the need for an increase in child health and fitness education. In Emily’s own words, “I have struggled with weight myself, for many years being obese. I have spent the last several years working toward getting healthy and achieving/maintaining a healthy weight. While working to achieve this goal I have done massive amounts of research on diet and exercise. I have also found a deep enjoyment of exercise and healthful activities.”

  • Steve Sobonya, M.A. Exercise Science, C.S.C.S. Strength and Conditioning Coach. Has administered Presidential Physical Fitness Testing for 12 years. Trainer to countless Olympic and Professional athletes.

  • Amy Tobin, BSN, MA, CEO of Hinds Hospice

  • Denise Ketcham, Physical Therapist III. “Throughout my life I have been involved in athletics, which requires a certain level of physical fitness. My career choice was made in part because of my dedication to fitness and living a healthy lifestyle. In my career, I am able to teach patients about physical fitness, strength, endurance, attitude, and living healthy. Being a member of this board allows me to have input into finding ways to help today’s kids be active and fit – to find ways to get them to walk away from the potato chips, soda and video games.”
